Ben’s Trailer Round-UP – 17/01/13

January 17, 2013

Here is another mid-morning, afternoon or evening digest of some new hot trailers, bought to you by Ben. Just imagine him in a little waiter’s outfit with a tray, laden with tasty biscuits and sugary drinks.

Pokemon X and Y Announcement Trailer

Finally it’s happening, a full 3D Pokémon game. OK, admittedly it’s still on a handheld, so we may have to wait a bit longer for a full 3D console game in the style of the handheld versions… which I’m pretty sure will actually never happen. But anyway, let’s see what’s to say about Pokémon X and Y.

For starters, let’s just say I’m already hyped as hell for this. Even though I feel that Pokémon games recently haven’t captured the same magic since Pokémon Gold and Pokemon Silver, they are always immensely enjoyable and let me act like a big kid once in a while.

Pokémon is addictive, great fun and is becoming more and more visually dynamic and immersive, traits that the Pokémon series really needs now; not to make it better, but to keep the formula fresh.

Pokémon X and Y are coming October 2013 and, even if you think Pokémon is getting old, don’t lie and say your inner child didn’t squeal when they saw this trailer, cause they did and they want to come out and “catch ‘em all” all over again

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trailer – Game Informer Coverage

From the makers of all franchise LEGO games comes another franchise LEGO game. Does that make it any less exciting? HELL NO! Who doesn’t want to play as the Hulk! This video gives us an interesting insight into the passion and creativity needed to create a LEGO game, and honestly I think it’s rubbing off on me. WANT!

The Sims 3 University Life — Announce Trailer

“Even though I’ve given EA some heat for being a dirty, opportunistic money-maker, I’m still really excited for University Life. University was probably my favourite expansion pack for The Sims 2, and even if upcoming University Life is probably pretty much the same product in a shinier version, so we again have to pay twice for almost the same game, I’m still going to do it. This time. It better be as good as it looks.” – Luna

Well Luna’s little piece there kind of sums it up, but I like to think, or at least hope EA will include some of the fundamental skills and activities real life students actually take away from University; like the ability to afford alcohol and fancy-dress costumes even when their bank account is bone-dry.

Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time – Story Trailer

Fun, colourful and stylised platforming is not dead. Although not an actual fan of the series, the games always interested me and oozed character and charm. I’m looking forward to seeing Sly Raccoon make his way back onto consoles, his first outing on the new generation. I support platformers wholeheartedly and this is why you should get interested as well.

Slender: The Arrival official teaser trailer

Blue Studios makes a sequel to the viral gaming sensation but, more important than all that, dear readers, is the following sentence: ‘Luna plays Slender: The Arrival’ Send us comments if you think it’s the best idea ever…DO IT! Come on!

And I leave you with two off the wall videos. One which will ram up your adrenaline and make you really stab happy and wonder where your nu-metal albums got to, and one which will leave you with lingering questions and a great sense of something special to come
