Skyrim: Dawnguard Beta Opened For Xbox

June 3, 2012

If you’re excited about the new vampire-themed expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dawnguard, you now have the chance to get in on the fun early, as Bethesda Softworks has opened up for beta registrations for Xbox.

To apply for the beta you’ll need a registered account on Bethesda Softworks’ official forums and then sign up via this form. Applicants will be drawn in the following week.

If you are among the lucky few, you’ll receive an Xbox LIVE code that will grant access to the full content of Dawnguard – providing beta testers the luxury of not having to spend money on the expansion on its actual release.

If you are not among the beta testers, Dawnguard will be released this summer and cost 1600 Microsoft Points (£13.71). It will be available exclusively for Xbox until 30 days from release. Most likely leaving many PS3 and computer-based players a tad or two annoyed. At least this just-released trailer shows that it might well be worth the wait, even if those Xbox players are first in line:

More information on Dawnguard is said to be revealed at this year’s Sony PlayStation E3 Press Conference.
