38 Studios Update: #38jobs Offers Help

May 25, 2012

You can either view this as a group of people offering a helping hand to people with nowhere else to go, or you may make all sorts of analogies resembling carrion picking at the bones of a corpse. I like to think that this is an example of the former.

Twitter has exploded with offers of job offers for the employees laid off with little warning following the 38 Studios debacle. A freelance writer, Alex Rubens, has compiled a list of job offers that have been posted under #38jobs, and it can be viewed here.

The loss of the company may be a hard-hitting blow for the industry, but let it never be said that gamers do not look after their own. Truly respectable.

UPDATE: Jfelipe33 on Twitter has put together with @alexrubens’ Google Docs jobs list.

I heard about 38 Jobs & Big Huge Games layoffs from a gamer friend, so I put together with @alexrubens GDocs jobs – this should be alot easier than Google Docs for you guys to share jobs quickly, certainly DM me directly on Twitter @jfelipe33 or on G+ and I will do whatever I can to help the crew that got laid off #goodluck #38jobs #payingitforward
