Support Make-A-Wish® with League of Legends

May 6, 2012

Players of League of Legends, heed the call as you are summoned to show the power of the LoL community once again! Riot Games, the crew behind LoL, has issued an open letter requesting aid in the efforts towards donating money to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Riot Games first came into contact with Make-A-Wish through fellow summoner 17-year old Joe who suffers from Ewing’s Sarcoma, a type of cancerous bone tumor that affects thousands of children all over the world. Joe started playing LoL a couple of years ago and uses the game as a means to stay in contact with his friends during treatments.

Together with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Riot Games made it possible for Joe and his dad Ken to visit and spend a whole day in the Santa Monica HQ. Inspired by Joe’s courage and high spirits during the visit, Riot Games has now decided to further support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by offering up Joe’s favorite character from the game, the champion Jax with his Jaximus skin, for sale at a 50 % reduced price! The offer will be valid from May 4 until 10:30 a.m. PT on May 18, 2012. All monetary gains will be donated directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, supporting people like Joe.

To find out more about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, visit their website at www.wish.org (U.S.) or www.worldwish.org (International).
