The Elder Scrolls Online Announced!

May 4, 2012

Today, we are going to kick start Huttstuff with some excellent news for all lovers of The Elder Scrolls! Some have been anxiously hoping for it. Some have dismissed the idea of it being possible. But most of us have been dying for it since the very beginning. And yesterday it was revealed, as seen on www.gameinformer.com: Bethesda Softworks, creator of The Elder Scrolls, has announced a new MMO based on their popular saga: The Elder Scrolls Online.

The game will be developed by Zenimax Online Studios and take place roughly a thousand years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, thus allowing players to discover and explore a whole new chapter of The Elder Scrolls history in which the daedric prince Molag Bal is trying to take over the land of Tamriel with demonic force.

Three player factions will fight their way through the game, engaging in both PvE, group-centered dungeons and PvP consisting of open-world warfare, where players fight each other in the battle to gain hold over the province of Cyrodiil and even the throne of the Emperor itself.

Game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor says: “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”

Let us hope that this first glimpse of The Elder Scrolls Online is only the beginning of what will emerge to be a grand new MMO able to fill out the shoes of the previous releases in the saga of The Elder Scrolls.

Tune into Huttstuff where we will be following the progress eagerly and post news on a regular basis.

The Elder Scrolls Online is scheduled for release in 2013 for PC and Mac.
